Kite Events 2009

Northern Kites organised their own events and worked in partnership with numerous organisations to deliver kite-based activities.   They included opportunities to see kites in the wild on Red Kite Safari’s and Red Kite Rambles or to learn more about the kites from the Northern Kites information stand, presentations and family activities.

Red Kite Health Walks

Red Kite Health Walks
Walk your way to health with Gateshead’s red kites!!
Being physically active is very important. Just 30 minutes of moderate activity a day, such as brisk walking can bring a whole range of health benefits. A recent health study has proven that red kites make you feel better, so for a wonderful way to meet new friends and improve your health why not join one of our red kite health walks!
Red Kite Health Walks take place weekly. There is no need to book, walks are free and open to anyone over the age of 16 who wants to enjoy Gateshead’s countryside and improve their fitness. All walks are led by Northern Kites staff and volunteers who have been trained as voluntary health walk leaders. They will do their utmost to ensure you have a lovely, safe and interesting walk.
